   This material is cut and sifted Elephants Head (Pedicularis groenlandica) with the stems removed.  These bright purple buds are used as a relaxing and flavorful addition to herbal smoke and tea blends.

   Many species of Louseworts are found in the pacific northwest, but various species can be found throughout the world.  They are employed medicinally for muscle tension, insomnia, and back pain.  The dried leaves and flower tops are sometimes smoked for their relaxing properties.  Although the whole plant is used to produce extracts, the buds and flowers are preferred when used as a tea or when smoked.
 
While Pedicularis is known to be semi-parasitic, it is rarely found cohabitating with toxic species.  All pedicularis material on the market is collected in the wild.
